6 keys to a happy life

Posted: 14 Jun 2012 06:01 AM PDT

happy lifeWhat is happiness? Why do some people seem to be permanently happy, while others struggle to get any satisfaction? This article provides some simple but effective ideas that can help you develop inner happiness and build a wonderful life.

1. Rely on your heart

If we live only by reason, we consider each situation with our critical, judicious mind, and as a consequence, we find an infinite number of mistakes in the world and other people. While we constantly criticize others, we can find no peace or happiness. However, if we rely more on the heart, we become more tolerant and receptive to others.

Children easily find happiness in simple everyday things, because they rely more on their heart. Sometimes we need to move away from our critical mind and take a simple children’s outlook on life.

2. Control your thoughts

When we feel helpless victims of the flow of our negative thoughts, how can we hope for happiness? For our happiness, we should develop a positive way of thinking by replacing our negative thoughts with positive, inspirational ones.

Staying away from negative thoughts is a matter of practice. Exercises in meditation and concentration can help us develop control of both our body and mind. But remember that often the most effective and simple way to get rid of negative thoughts is to focus on something positive. Be very careful with what floats your mind.

3. Simplicity

The path to happiness is not difficult. Happiness does not depend on the accumulation of a certain amount of wealth or on the achievement of certain standards prescribed by society.

Happiness exists in the moment, not in an imaginary perfect future. We need to train the art of being happy with our current position. Our present life may be far from ideal, but if we can move away from negative aspects of our life and value the dignity of simplicity, we can achieve happiness much easier.

4. Gratitude

If we do not express our gratitude to other people and life in general, we form a self-loving outlook on life. We are too focused on our own thoughts and ego. When we express our gratitude for little things in life, our consciousness and self-awareness are expanding.

Gratitude has a huge positive effect. If it is upright and sincere, it changes dramatically our outlook on life. Gratitude allows you to express a sincere positive attitude towards life.

5. Activeness

Activeness does not mean filling our lives with all possible activities. This can only lead to the development of self-esteem and stress because of making great efforts to carry out several things at once. If we show normal activity, we begin to feel a purpose in life. This intention and satisfaction from our actions can help develop a sense of inner satisfaction.

6. Physical exercise

If you start performing regular exercise, you will notice many beneficial results. First, when we exercise our body, we become less prone to illnesses. Thanks to the development of our physical strength, we obtain the ever-increasing self-esteem, because thus we actively develop ourselves.

Maintaining good physical shape has a positive impact on our mental attitude. Exercise releases the brain from a variety of useless thoughts. Remember that maintaining physical fitness does not mean self-torture, you can always find a kind of exercise that will be fun and will provide a good pastime.

How to find your purpose of life

Posted: 13 Jun 2012 06:36 PM PDT

happinessSooner or later we all think about why we came into this world. Consciously or unconsciously people chose their own meaning of life and seek to comprehend it.

In every age the purpose of human life is expressed in its own way. If in childhood we, cherished by parents, go on about the same way (kindergarten, school, college), then when we grow up, this issue begins to worry us more and more, often causing depression and unexpected turns in life.

We usually think about our purpose of life with most common stereotypes imposed from outside. We look at others and copy their aspirations, without even realizing it, and spend our precious time on achieving goals that are alien to us.

Among these alien goals may be: career growth; graduation in non-desired but prestigious specialty; desire to have expensive things; need to have family and children.

The desire to be happy is the most common dream. However, happiness is not a permanent condition. It is not noticeable, when it turns into an everyday routine. Only a permanent presence of contrasting emotions can provide the feeling of happiness. So do not try to avoid negative emotions. Remember that they are not permanent and soon will turn into the positive ones.

In fact, everyone understands the word “happiness” in his own way, sets his own goals, reaches them, and set the new ones. However, often even the achievement of a sincerely desired goal does not bring joy. At times, person, being surprised and disappointed about himself, stops moving forward. Such events can change the whole future life.

The point is to focus on your feelings, and listen to your heart and emotions. Color of emotions is the key to the satisfaction of the moments of happiness, and can tell you which direction to take.

In the course of life, having reached a number of goals, person realizes that not the material prosperity but the spiritual enrichment of himself and his surrounding world is his destination. This can be expressed in the variety of ways – through the care of one's children, through the help to other people, through self-development and self-realization in one's labor of love.

Therefore, observing in yourself state of happiness, peace of mind, catching a wide smile on your face, linger in the moment, remember what events caused these feelings and continue moving in this direction.

Sincere desires, backed up by spiritual aspirations and matched with the same sincere positive emotions, 'produce' creative energy which can do truly incredible things.

It is not necessary to be outstanding and change the course of history. The fact that each of us is assigned to his special role and his place in this life is a manifestation of the unique purpose of each person.

The point is to find what really motivates you and provide 'the engine with fuel' all the time. Think, for whom and what you wake up every morning, get up and start your new day.

Every person deserves happiness and perceives it in his own way. Search for meaning can take a long time, even the whole life. Maybe this is the meaning of life? Everyone has his own one, and it is certainly worthy of searching. The choice is in our hands: to follow the flow or do all this way consciously and with pleasure, enjoying happy and joyful moments.
